What has changed since the last update: NWS placing further emphasis on on wind threats, especially between 4 pm Friday through 8 am on Saturday.


Threat/Timing:

  • Wind Advisory remains in effect from 11 am on Friday until 7 pm on Saturday

  • Strongest Winds between 4 pm Friday and 8 am Saturday

  • Wind Chills ... Saturday night through Wednesday night

Hazards & Impacts:

  • Saturated ground from previous rains and high winds on Friday & Saturday could result in power outages from down trees & power lines

  • Very cold wind chills are expected late this weekend through the middle of next week with potential for frostbite & hypothermia


Note: Additional precipitation (0.5 - 1") expected that could further increase risk of downed trees and powerlines due to ground saturation.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM FRIDAY TO 7 PM EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Indiana and central, southwest and west central Ohio.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Friday to 7 PM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.  Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Localized enhancements in wind gusts will be possible Friday afternoon and evening with the rain showers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
